Pochettino: Harry Kane Must Rest
Mauricio Pocchetino had experienced the fear that Harry Kane suffered an injury when Tottenham Hotspur won over Liverpool last weekend.
But he finally said it would rest the England striker in the middle of this week.
Kane broke his deadlock at Wembley with two goals which led Spurs to a 4-1 win over Jurgen Klopp’s side but looked a bit sick when pulled out at the end of the fight.
Despite showing no sign of injury, Pocchetino believes Kane is suffering from fatigue, and will give his striker a break when meeting West Ham in the League Cup next Wednesday.
“Harry is again stunning, he is amazing, one of the best in the world,” said Pocchetino. “Injury? no, he is just exhausted. He worked very hard, Bournemouth, Real Madrid and then today (vs. Liverpool), it’s not a problem. ”
“We’re going to rest Harry. We still have a lot of games, Manchester United, Madrid, then Crystal Palace. Do not forget he also played twice with the national team. He is very professional, but he is not a machine, and this Wednesday he will rest. “
